Today is my 32 birthday. Yikes! I love birthdays. I don't know what it is really I just do. My 30th year was what I would consider the rockiest of times as I closed the door on a part of my life that was a constant struggle and did not bring me the love and satisfaction that I had thought it would. This time last year, I gladly celebrated by blowing out 31 candles. I also made myself a promise: to spend the year living my adventure by doing anything that I wanted, when I wanted (aside from still working and doing the must do's of life). Transitioning from such a hard year, to me there seemed like no better time then my 31st year to follow my intuition and do what I loved the most. I made new friends, ran a lot, and enjoyed a number of firsts, including a weeklong trip to British Columbia which was also my first solo trip dedicated to photography. I discovered a love for mini adventures and spent a lot of time traveling throughout Maine exploring by hiking, canoeing, and swimming. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the canoe race in my hometown in the spring which brought a whole new, fun twist to the year and the epic white water rafting trip (also a first for me and boy did I love every minute of the wild ride).
31 was not without its ups and downs as that is always a part of every year. It was an amazing year and I learned so much living my adventure life that I am working on my first eBook to share photography and musings from the year (coming in 2015). The photo below is a self portrait I took while hiking Borestone Mountain and I am excited to share as it will be the cover for the eBook.
Hello 32. It is going to be another totally awesome year spent living my adventure life!
