I spent the holiday quietly resting and recovering from a wicked cold so stepped away from writing a bit. I am back and certainly would be remiss if I did not spend a moment today to wish my family, friends, fellow adventurers, and photography folks a wonderful start to 2015. It will be another 365 days of awesome! Day 1 began in true adventure style. The alarm went off at 2:15 a.m. and as quickly as possible headed out the door. Hiking to the top of Borestone Mountain I captured the black and white image of the pre-dawn refreshing Maine winter landscape. The skies were overcast so we only saw a few peeks of the sun but it was a peaceful morning and a wonderful adventure. It was also with great joy that I along with Jared (an adventurer as crazy and willing to get up in the middle of the night as I am) were the only two on the trail. I thought perhaps we might see someone on the way down, but the only thing we spotted were what we believe to be bear tracks!
It's the beginning of the year and I plan to continue an awesome adventure life sharing photographs and thoughts along the way. This time of year js a great time to look back at the years before and reflect on what worked and what didn't. It is also a great time to assess what matters most and to enter the year full steam ahead doing things large and small in support of what you love. Many look at the new year as a fresh beginning and it is, but so is each and every day. If today was not your best, tomorrow is sure to bring another sunrise and a chance for an epic adventure. Cheers to a wonderful 365 days!
